Project “growth shot” in full effect!

Tank ConditionsI’ve been playing with the idea of starting up a full blown page to post weekly growth shots to, and tonight I finally decided to sit down and make it happen!

The wife is out of the house on Monday nights, so I get some bonus fish tank time.  I usually do a thorough glass cleaning, check my levels, do the dosing, take care of any other maintenance issues that need addressed.  However, now that I have this fancy new iPhone it’s easier than ever to take weekly growth shots!  You’ll see the link to the page up there in the navigation – other than that, not much to report for this week.  Added some extra rubble to the tank to try and close up some of the dead space under the over hang.  Still pondering tearing that all out and do a complete rebuild (always the case right?!) but for now I am going to let it sit and grow.  I’ll be sure to post another update next, till then – happy reefing!

About Clinton

Born and raised shralpin the steep and deep up in Bozeman America, now on the sunny surfside in Southern Californaia. Workin hard and playin harder that's a mantra to live by in my book. All that aside, I'm a laid back, fun lovin, adventurous guy. Really not a fan of people who pretend to be something they aren't. I'm more the kind of guy that thinks that laughter is the best medicine, and life is far too short to waste. There's an adventure out there waiting, all you have to do is get off the couch, find something you are passionate about and get after it!

How are you measuring calcium and alkalinity in the graph?

I use test kits! I used the Salifert kits for a long time, but they are kind of a pain. I move to API kits, but they aren’t as accurate. Now I’m using Elos test kits. They are a litte more expensive, but they are easier and they are accurate!

These graphs were taken quite some time ago when I was running an ACJR and keeping notes in Aquanotes. I’ve moved onto to an APEX Lite and keep my tank notes over at http://www.reeftools.com/live/SlvrSurfRidr/ (look for the “tank parameters” tab)
